DBO Welcomes Rick Kneeshaw to the DBO team - March 1st, 2004
A great and welcome addition to the team.
Rick Kneeshaw, CPP
Senior HR Consultant
The New Human Resources
Strategic Recruitment & Retention
The key business discipline Rick Kneeshaw brings to a client engagement is in linking people, purpose and process. One of the key success factors in sustaining a competitive advantage is to acknowledge where you are headed, and to develop insightful strategies for implementation. Otherwise, you will find your organization to be just another ineffective, albeit well intentioned, enterprise.
Rick is one of few Canadians to have earned the federal CPP (Canadian Personnel Professional) designation, recognized in all provinces and territories. This ensures an objective and inclusive approach is considered when developing and implementing corporate strategy. The CPP designation is now
recognized as the international standard, administered by McMaster University, on behalf of the International Personnel Management Association (IPMA):

Rick is a certified management and leadership development facilitator, and has trained managers in seminars and workshops all across Canada and the United States. Clients have realized full value from the management and leadership development curriculum that Rick has developed and implemented for their organizations, through the depth and breadth gained in the 'real world, practical experience' that Rick brings to, and imparts to his workshop participants and clients.
The execution of strategic and tactical planning is critical in today's market. To this end, Rick also brings certification in both Process and Project Management to his client engagements. Thereby ensuring that deliverables are planned, organized and controlled. Contracts (performance accountabilities) are delivered on time, on budget. This experience in itself has brought substantial value and maturity to client processes, which are defined along the way. This allows for 'built-in' productivity, as those defined client processes are repeatable, and transferable within the host enterprise.
Rick began his career in the Canadian Armed Forces, serving in a NATO combat
unit, in a European theater of operations. It was here that Rick assumed a
leadership role, and began facilitating leadership training. Rick's initial
training for his foreign assignment was as a Combat Paramedic, in a Special
Forces Unit (4CMSU Lahr).
While serving in Europe, Rick lead a team that was responsible for high risk
medical evacuations, and was successful in leading operations in Germany, Italy,
France and the United Kingdom.
During the 1980's and 90's Rick held several progressive management roles within
the (global) financial services sector, where he was responsible for the
development and implementation of resource management strategy.
In the summer of 1999, Rick left corporate life and began engaging clients directly in a consulting capacity. Organizations such as The Hay Group and PriceWaterhouseCoopers have concluded that "Rick has it right" ... and have noted that the churn organizations experience in resource planning & deployment, is elective.
Rick and his wife Joy have been married 30 years, and have two children, Daniel
(19) and Amanda (17). They call Oshawa, Ontario home, although Rick travels
extensively for client engagements throughout Canada and the United States. As a
family they contribute their time to community service, and are actively
involved in their church.
Rick brings over 25 years of experience in resource planning and deployment, with a personal integrity that has earned him the respect of friends and business colleagues alike. The fees associated with a DBO engagement are typically fully recovered through cost containment and realized cost savings.
